“Property lovely, high standard interior. Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly. Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off. We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...

“The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The thing that let it down was the food. A lot of the courses were tasteless including the main breakfast. The only other thing we did not like was the shower, climbing in and out a bath. Also could not open the windows in.the room when it got warm”

“- The shale beach across the road was the most amazing I have ever seen. - The menu is misleading. My husband wanted NO ALCOHOL beer because he is allergic to alcohol. The NO ALCOHOL beer on the menu said 0.0% alcohol. What arrived was what the waitress said was NO ALCOHOL but it actually was 0.5% alcohol. We sent it back, and I did tell the waitress the menu was incorrect and that she should mention it to management, but she did not seem interested in doing anything about it.”

“The Monk Bridge House is an amazing treasure in a perfect location for exploring York. The owners are attentive and the service is exemplary. Definitely worth a visit.”

“Me and my partner Ross stayed at The Cornmill last saturday and we both had a pleasent experience, Karen is very welcoming & accomodating and all round a lovely person. The room we stayed in was immaculate aswell and to top it all off, breakfast was absolutely superb! It's a 10/10 from both of us, we would highly recommend and we do plan on coming back in the future. Thank you so much”

“The property is very central and has easy access to the city centre. The room was spacious but the pub is quite loud at night and you could hear the music until past midnight. You were just given a key and shown where the room was and that was it. The room only had a bath and I wasn’t aware of that”
