Burton Stone Inn was fantastic. Ideal base for anyone looking to explore the city. Not too far to walk from the Inn to the main attractions. Rooms were clean, fresh and welcoming. Staff were helpful and polite. We will definitely be returning!

15 minute walk to city centre and parking onsite which was a bonus, breakfast was excellent, the downstairs bar was only open from 4pm till 8pm and apart from some traffic noise as our room was situated facing the main road everything was excellent. We even had a fridge in the room which was useful. Staff were great and we had a very relaxing weekend in York thanks to our hosts at the Burton Stone Inn.

This was the ideal room for a family city break. The staff were friendly and accommodating and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre, so we didn’t need to use the car at all for the duration of our stay.

The Burton Stone Inn was super clean and a very cute property! The outside terraces were well set up and our room was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive when any issues came up! Would definitely stay here again

Lovely stay in this Inn. Very nice owners and we liked the location -- just a short walk to downtown or the train station. We did not take the breakfast, but it looked very good. The only consideration is if you have limited mobility and get the room we had on the top floor, there is no lift or elevator. Otherwise, we recommend this Inn for it's location, owners, and value.

Michael and his wife were the perfect hosts providing a lovely accommodation. We stayed in room 11 which was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and with all ammenities. The dining and bar areas were great and very clean. As room 11 in on the ground floor and street side you will get traffic noise throughout the night but otherwise very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh and plenty of variety. Parking was convenient and location to the old town excellent. Also plenty of eating options nearby.

A really charming old inn. We've had a lovely time here, the staff was so kind and helpfull. The room was comfy and lovely. The inn is close to the city center, we did everything by foot. We would definitely come back again. :)

Very beautifully decorated room and very friendly host. Short walk to directly to the city centre and nice shops, cafes, etc. along the way. There is a bit of traffic and noise from the road, but I slept very well, and would ask for a room on the garden side if there's a need for more quiet. Would stay there again and recommend.

Second stay at The Burton Stone, another very warm welcome from Aggie and Michael, nothing too much trouble. Room 1 bright, attractively decorated, clean and plenty hot water. Breakfast superb, plenty of choice. Parking at rear of property, allowed to leave car before and after checking in/out.
