This was our second visit to The Milner and we will definitely be returning again. It's a beautiful hotel with plenty of facilities and is ideal if your traveling by train as it is right next door to York Railway Station with direct access. The staff are amazing, very friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay!

The location of the hotel is perfectly placed to walk into York town centre. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. Our room was small but very clean with a comfortable bed, the shower was particularly nice. The common areas were beautifully decorated and spacious.

Excellent stay...beautiful hotel, immaculately maintained...a level above anything else we stayed out during our vacation. Centrally located within easy walking distance of almost anything you'd want to see. Parking was a bit dodgy since the hotel seems to be booked for all sorts of event. The breakfast was ideal. I really want to go back for more.

A wonderful building and a beautiful interior, very nice bathroom and spacious bedroom, though we booked cozy double and the bed was a bit small for two plus we could hear the neighbours, next time I would book a bigger room facing garden, not the street. Breakfast is nice if you like, traditional English one. Everything you want to see in York is 10 min walk away, great location.

I loved the proximity to the train station, perfect location to visit York for the first time, staff were lovely. Room was clean, bed was very comfy. My room didnt get much sunlight, but it is a period building with small windows. Shower was spacious, but I couldnt figure out how to use it properly, also instructions for the aircon would be helpful. I plan to return, and to stay longer next time.

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were top notch. We had a bite to eat in the Garden Room and James was running himself ragged trying to serve everyone and accommodate everyone’s needs. Another waitress was also so friendly and helpful. We felt safe and well cared for during our entire stay.

Very convenient location. Essentially it is part of the very extensive railway station making travel much easier. However the hotel obviously once was a palatial building but now is badly in need of a major renovation and update. Enjoy the history but the royals have moved out.
