“We booked one of the nicer rooms. It seemed like a renovation project had been started but not finished. Half the wooden floor had been sanded and in places patched, the rest was stained. Shower was a clunky 70’s spa tub which ran hot and cold without any changes to the lever. Cupboard with glass doors was missing glass in one of them. Exterior of the hotel looked run down. “Lovely staff and a very comfortable stay. The property is located in a calm and quiet town, making it an ideal place to relax, especially if you’re travelling with your own vehicle. The building is very old and traditional, full of character, and has been well maintained. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience. Everything was just perfect, lots of nice touches, the staff were really helpful, Francesca and Adam went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The chauffeur service was excellent. “I loved my stay here. The location is perfect. Ambleside is very walkable so everything was close. The room had windows with beautiful views of the town, and I really appreciated there being a full length mirror in there. It was quiet and comfortable. Meg and John take great care of their guests. I was given a parking disc that could be used at a few different car parks in the area. Breakfast was absolutely lovely with a lot of choices. I’m so pleased with my choice to stay here!”
