“Great place. Check in was easy once we got through. Not the owners fault it was hotel. Com they were awful. Stay was amazing views were outstanding. Dated but this gave the appeal plenty of space and bedrooms all hadd en suite”

“Great central location so easy to walk everywhere in Kendal - ideal for out party who could then nip to shops, out for meals etc. Lovely property top to bottom. And a nice welcome gift for us too. Thank you to the hosts.”

“Beautiful house and location. Host is pretty thoughtful and thorough. The only issue was we were unable to contact host for any anything like internet password etc”

“This was an excellent place to stay, with historic ironworks in front, whitewater in behind, and a real steam-engine train passing by that looked like something out of a story book. There are two flights of 17 steps each, for a total of 34 steps to get to the flat, and then 14 more inside the cottage to get to the bedroom. The unit was immaculate when we arrived, and well-stocked with essentials, except we could not find bedding for the pull-out bed in the main living area. The grounds were...

“Amazing weekend.Bit awkward to find as we came in from kendal way ..Sat nav tookus throughmiles of one car wide road but its a paradise corner with stream and garden areas.. “House is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise. There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...

“Beautiful views,so peaceful. Plenty of wildlife to watch and stunning walks and scenery. Property was very comfortable and had everything you needed. Highly recomended for a magical getaway.”

“A lovely cottage in a great location.”

“We had a wonderful stay in this real southern Lake District gem of a cottage – thank you Jules (and Alistair)! It's even lovelier than the photos show! Almost any facilities and extras you could want or need were already provided, with such care and attention to detail across all the areas. If there had been anything missing or not quite right (which there wasn't), then a quick ask would be all that's needed. Easy to contact and on hand with any queries – Jules kindly messaged to let us know...

“Beautiful house, lovely stay - very good and helpful coms throughout. Thank you ”

“Perfect location for walking and chilling.”

“We had a lovely few days in this quaint cottage. There is everything you need and very close to the village pub, where they let us park our car, as not really ideal outside the cottage. Will definitely return if we go back to the Lake Distruct.”

“Great little place , only 10 min walk to the local swan pub , great for a group booking like ours was , only 30 mins to Windermere lake , loads going on there.”

“Lovely cottage, plenty of space for the 6 of us. Fantastic log burner. Very clean, everything we needed in the kitchen. Having the washer dryer was a real bonus. Separate downstairs bedroom and bathroom was great for my parents ”

“Very nice place. Well maintained with a lovely hot tub. Good bar on site. We had some issues checking in and can only assume that was down to Expedia (we did not get key code which caused some issues). Would return.”
