“We stayed 2 nights as a group of 6 in the bunk barn. The room was full of mould. The bunk barn doenst peovide enough space for 6 people and very little space to store belongings. Mould can cause serious risk to health when inhaled and given we had people with asthma in our group its a blessing it didnt cause and harm at this time. The female bathroom was infested in flies. “The room was clean and basic. It was a bit noisy as the plumbing (I assume) sometimes banged loudly in our room. This didn’t go too late into the night and we slept well. The kitchen facilities were good and the large dining/lounge area was a great space. The whole place could do with a lick of paint and a good wipe over. The games and books were tatty with pieces missing (no table tennis with only one bat and no ball!). It was good to have a bar which was reasonably well resourced. When we...

“The hostel is cozy, located close to the lake, and within a short drive or a hike from Scafell. The food at the restaurant is fantastic. There is also a kitchen which can be used to cook your own food. The staff are all very friendly.”
