“Lovely old pub in beautiful location, excellent breakfast, with home made preserves. The dinner menu looked very exciting but sadly we were dining elsewhere. Staff most helpful, carrying luggage and providing information. There is an onsite brewery! The night was extremely hot, so difficult to sleep, but very comfortable bed and well equipped room. The bathroom could have done with refurbishment to the tiling and taps, but was acceptable. There is a large parking area, by the river garden.”

“The checkin was well communicated via email and totally virtual. We had no interaction with any staff. The room was nice but, despite a sign on the bathroom door, a very small step from the bedroom to the bathroom resulted in painful toes as both my wife and I stubbed them on the step. We were in the ‘Deer’ room which is on the third floor. Carrying our luggage up three staircases and narrow corridors was very difficult - there is no lift!
