“Lovely old pub in beautiful location, excellent breakfast, with home made preserves. The dinner menu looked very exciting but sadly we were dining elsewhere. Staff most helpful, carrying luggage and providing information. There is an onsite brewery! The night was extremely hot, so difficult to sleep, but very comfortable bed and well equipped room. The bathroom could have done with refurbishment to the tiling and taps, but was acceptable. There is a large parking area, by the river garden.”

“We stayed a night after spending the day at Oldfield Forge. The property was lovely and well kept with a very big room. The owner was super helpful and the breakfast the next day was great. We really recommend this property for anyone staying in the area.”

“Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time.”

“This is such a lovely place to stay, quirky and interesting decor, great food and amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay here again, though will ask for a room nearer the ground floor next time as the stairs were tricky for the dodgy knees.”

“We were made very welcome by Wendy and Lawrence on our arrival. We sat outside in the sunny garden with a mug of tea and a caramel bar. We had the entire dining room to ourselves. There was a great selection of cereals available and the traditional breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom spacious. ”
