The room we stayed in was immaculate aswell and to top it all off, breakfast was absolutely superb! “Excellent location for both forest and local villages and towns. Quiet location, all meals very good, breakfast you couldn’t ask for more options. Staff excellent , efficient, yet couldn’t do more. Beers from Cropton brewery excellent and good choices. Some of building from 400 years very quirky rooms on multiple levels, confusing at first but yousoon become accustomed.”

“Sadly, this was a bad experience. I booked via Expedia where the hotel was advertising a Michelin trained chef and a restaurant. I travelled solo 145 miles for a two night break purely because of this. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn the restaurant closed last year. I expressed this disappointment in very civil tones, explaining this was the only reason for my visit. I asked the owner Stacie if I could therefore cancel my second night and obtain a partial refund for it. Stacie agreed...

“A lovely spacious room with views of the countryside. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order in nice relaxed setting. I would definitely recommend this place.”

“The room was lovely and very comfortable. I had some difficulty with the stairs both in the accommodation and in the outer building because of my mobility, so I would warn others of the steepness of the stairs. Everything was very clean and well presented, plenty of continental breakfast choices, tea and coffee etc. This would only have been improved by a more practical washing up facility than the bathroom sink. Having said that though, the bathroom was spotlessly clean.”
