Enjoyed our stay at the Royal, friendly staff, and the room was very good, a little tired in places but nothing to detract from the overall quality of the hotel. Good breakfast choice, although a bigger plate would be nice, a side plate not an ideal size for a full English breakfast. Great sea view from out room and the hotel is in a prime spot to vist all that Whitby as to offer.

We had a great stay at the Royal Hotel. The room was lovely, great bed, very comfy! Also very quite, On one day the was a wedding reception in the Hotel and we didn't hear a thing! Hotel is looking fabulous, what a makeover it’s had. Can still smell the fresh paint upon entering. Had a room on the 2nd floor with a view of the abbey and the water, what a lovely sight to wake up to. Our meal at the fat badger was also excellent. First visit to the Royal Hotel and I’m sure we’ll be back. Great restaurant and bar areas. Had a great time at one of their events. Stayed overnight in a cosy double, clean and everything you need in a room. Might be too small if you are there for a week. Parking behind the hotel at £6 per 24 hours. Good WiFi.

Nice hotel but couldn’t leave window open in room and it was roasting. If you go take a small block of wood to keep sash window open. Staff were very friendly. Was a bit noisy as events were being held but room was quiet. Good selection at breakfast and in bar n the little coffee shop was nice.
