4/10 Poor

Liked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities
While we liked the theme of the pub, and the staff were friendly, the stay was let down by a poor nights sleep due to very thin walls and chatter in the pub past 11pm (despite the pub closing at 10). I did complain, and the noise did stop after some time, but it took a significant amount of time to get to sleep even after that. The pillows were also not to our preference, being extremely soft, but we didn’t raise this with staff (as we only stayed one night) so we don’t know if there were any alternatives available. We had no complaints about breakfast, which was good considering it was included in the budget nightly rate. Overall, while the price point does make this a good value stay, the disrupted and poor sleep has had a significant impact on my rating.

Mandy and Steve returning customers

This is the second time at The Witching Post inn. We love the location.. easy to get to Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood bay and Goathland. Pete and his team were great hosts and looked after us. Fantastic food, all home cooked and fresh local produce. We would highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Highly recommend in Whitby area

One night stay en route to Whitby 2 rooms booked. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms. Rooms were very spacious and clean and had all we required. We went down to the bar for food and drinks the food was very good and enjoyed by the three of us. We enjoyed the evening with the locals and our host who made us all feel very welcome. After a great nights sleep we all had breakfast again very good and couldn't be faulted. All in all a great place to stay if you're in the area and very convenient for visiting Whitby. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Witching Post Inn and would definitely visit again.

Lovely hosts, room was nice, spacious and good to have a living area rather than just a bed to lay on. Breakfast was incredible, best I have had (I've had a few!).
