We stayed in one of the cabins at the rear if the pub. Very clean, and location at back of pub was well maintained and enclosed, which was perfect as we have a dog. Only downside is one shared toilet and shower between the four cabins, it was clean and didnt cause any issues so only small downside. There are other toilets in the pub itself. Each cabin has a double bed, sofa bed, tv and drawer unit and kettle. Tea, coffee, bicsuits and 1 litre bottle of water in cabin on arrival. The pub itself offers good quality food and drink and is very reasonablly priced. We ate there one night and it was excellent, staff are helpful. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice. Location wise the pub is a couple of miles outside of Whitby centre. There is access to the old railway line that has been made into a pathway, all the way into Whitby, which is perfect if you have dogs. A nice walk.

If your looking for peaceful quiet holiday place away from the crowds this place is perfect nothing but countryside around the Windmill Inn, country walks are just 50 yards away from the front door, the breakfast is amazing best I've had in a long time, the dinner menu is very good also & they sell Morretti my favourite drink at the bar, they gave a dart board & pool table inside the pub. All I could hear on a morning & evening was birds singing because the Shepherds Huts are surrounded by trees & away from the busy A171 main road. There's wi-fi inside the pub or around the back on picnic tables so perfect for my teenage boys which allowed me to have the t.v all to myself on an evening which had freeview channels. Coffee/ tea making facilities inside the huts & more spacious on the inside then they look from the outside. Walking distance to Aldi & a lovely bakery that serves lunchtime food. I parked up outside the pub & walked down to the A171 gor the X93 / X94 to take us into Whitby one day & Robin Hoods Bay the day after, so I didn't have the stress of finding a car park space.

Had a lovely 4 night stay. The room was very clean..bathroom too. Enough drawers and storage space. The food was amazing. Breakfast was lovely..good quality and great portions. Great family get away

Loved our stay in the shepherds hut. Great family get away in a lovely location. Fun alternative to our usual camping. Lovely facilities, amazing welcoming staff and delicious breakfast. Short drive to all local destinations…wish we had stayed another night!

Had a fantastic stay at the Windmill Inn. All staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Shepards’ huts were clean and cozy. Breakfast was fantastic on both days and location great for both Robin Hoods’ Bay and Whitby. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

The staff and the breakfast were awesome. I did feel all the pub locals stared at us on walking through the pub though. Our room was above the pub door, we heard the door bang every time someone entered or left. Sunday morning the music was on really loud and really early so not really the relaxing weekend we thought.
