Vacations Close To Coco Bongo Punta Cana

Property is nice and big. If you are into a very active party vibe, this is your place. If you are looking to have a more relaxing vacation, look elsewhere. I felt like I was on a cruise on land. It is loud and lots of kids jumping over you in the pool. It was fine but not for me. Food was just ok; only food I liked was breakfast. There are lots of options though. Beach had tons of seaweed so we did not get in. Was told punta Cana has that issue during summer and other parts of DR are much better.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at Riu Palace Macao in Punta Cana. I booked an Ocean View Junior Suite with Elite Service because I expected a premium vacation experience. Unfortunately, the accommodations and service did not match what was advertised or what I paid for. Upon arrival, I was assigned a Junior Suite with two twin beds instead of the room I reserved. The room also did not provide the clear ocean view that was promised. I paid extra for these upgrades and feel that I did not receive the accommodations I purchased. The television in my room did not work, and I had to contact the front desk twice before someone finally fixed it. Throughout my stay, I found many staff members to be unhelpful and unwilling to resolve concerns promptly. The Elite Service package was especially disappointing and offered little value for the additional cost. My biggest frustration involved the parasailing excursion sold on the resort's beach. We were told photos would cost $60, paid for them, and never received them. When I reported the issue, I was told the hotel was not responsible for vendors operating on its property. That response was unacceptable and left me feeling that guests are not adequately protected. I do appreciate that the resort handled occasional power outages quickly. I also enjoyed the food, nightly entertainment, Wellness Spa, and the Club, which were excellent.

Staff was amazing and the food surprises us, the room was good. It will be better if the toilet was separate. But in general we had an amazing and relaxing vacations. We stay at the coral level and upgraded to a front beach room. They also add a sargassum barrier and it really help us enjoy the beach.

I am a Prestige Club member but used Expedia to book because I had credits. They would not let me utilize most of my benefits because of it and we had to move rooms because the TV wouldn't work and woke up to a huge roach in the room. Everything they asked me as a member that I wanted for my birthday trip was never given: no snacks, no fav drinks, no birthday gift or dessert like usual. I asked for a bottom-floor room since there are only stairs and got booked on the top floor. It was not a very good experience at all. I won't go back to this resort even though it was my 3rd visit.

We really wanted to love this resort. The property was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The pools and beach were nice, and the common areas were spotless. However, after spending 7 days at the resort, these positives were overshadowed by disappointing food, poor customer service, housekeeping issues, and a major unresolved billing issue. The biggest disappointment was the food. We booked this resort because of its outstanding food reviews, but our experience was the complete opposite. Almost everything lacked flavor, desserts all tasted the same, menus felt repetitive, and by the end of the trip we were only ordering hamburgers, spaghetti, and chicken wings because these were the only consistently edible options. Housekeeping was inconsistent. We often had to request service multiple times. On one occasion housekeeping put our used sheets back on the bed instead of replacing them. Dirty dishes remained until requested, and our in-room jacuzzi was broken for the first two days despite multiple follow-up requests. Dominican Night was disappointing. An employee repeatedly insisted we buy a $100 bottle of wine to keep our table. A manager confirmed no such requirement existed, yet the employee continued confronting me and raised his voice.
