"The situation in a woodland property was nice. The interior was nice , although probably more rustic than luxury. It was good to have an open fire, because the living area was cold without it : perhaps a heat pump as well would be a good idea. We had to get lots more firewood from the woodpile especially kindling as we lit the fire each morning and evening. The living area was quite dark. "This place is a gem! Noel & Di welcomed us into their home, and it was so lovely after a series of slightly soulless hotels we stayed in during our travels around South Island. It’s a quirky place but all the better for it! We ate at a restaurant called Rocks in Invercargill and the steaks were excellent. Thanks to Noel for his recommendations on the Catlins. "
