"We had a fantastic stay at the Mikasa Ryokan, which we would describe more as an experience from the moment we entered the hotel, until the moment we were dropped back at the JR Station by the hotel shuttle bus. The staff are very attentive, the food was excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. "This is a very authentic Japanese hotel and appeared to be mostly Japanese tourists. The dinner buffet had very loud live performance and the audience was definitely into it. There's an onsen at this hotel and a pool. The pool closes early and opens late so heads up. We didn't really pay attention to where the hotel was. It's about a 45 minute train from the Nara Park, we may have booked a closer place if we'd known, but for the experience of staying at this hotel it was pretty much worth...
