Vacations Close To Cenote Siete Bocas

Overall, we had a good stay at Hotel Kanan, and our room was absolutely amazing. However, the hotel itself felt a bit neglected and could definitely use some maintenance and extra attention. I understand that tourism may be slower right now, but I actually think this is the perfect opportunity to take care of the property and make improvements. One of our biggest disappointments was the beach. I completely understand that sargassum is a natural issue and difficult to control. However, there is a difference between dealing with seaweed and simply not maintaining the beach. We noticed trash sitting in the same spots for several days, and while neighboring hotels were actively cleaning up the seaweed and keeping their beaches tidy, here it seemed to be simply ignored or worked around. Breakfast was another disappointment. The options were underwhelming, and the food was quite bland and lacked flavor. It's a shame because the hotel has so much potential, and our room was truly wonderful. With better maintenance, more attention to cleanliness, and improvements to the breakfast, this could be a fantastic place to stay.

Place was nice but could’ve been kept better. I got probably over 30 mosquito bites because there was a gap in in the window that couldn’t be covered. The water and electric went out middle of the night before check out, and I found out because my cpap turned off and I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t shower or brush my teeth. It was raining hard so in order to get to the front desk from my room I had to walk through ankle height water. It could’ve been easily fixed if they put a drain or something. When I got to the front desk soaking wet staff just stared at me and didn’t offer a towel or anything. Basically just said you owe this for stuff from the mini bar. Didn’t help me with my bags either.Couldn’t swim in the cenote too dirty. Food too expensive and im from San Francisco.

It was all fine other than the people booking our suppers and travel from to the airport. We showed up for suppers and werent booked even tho we did all the booking the first day. Then our van didnt show up for us at all on the last day.

The stay is beyond beautiful! Guests need access to more light in the rooms, microwave, electrical heating water pot for teas and coffee! Other than that the stay is amazing! Staff was amazing specially Manuel who helped us alot during our stay!

I loved the à la carte dinners, staff was always friendly, Sara at the spa was 10/10!!

The food was excellent and staff was always friendly and helpful. The temperature in our room was never controlable via the thermostat. Alway too cool. We just opened the door to the balcony. My wife and I were there to celebrate her birthday. The birthday was mentioned as the reason for our stay to several staff members during our checkin. After checkin, my wife's birthday was never mentioned or acknowledged. This was our second stay at Unico 20.87. This trip the grounds and facilities are being overrun with the large rodents with long tails and snouts. The large number of these animals roaming the hotel creates safety and sanitation concerns for all. The population of these animals in the hotel needs to be reduced.
