Vacations Close To Mamitas Beach

GR Solaris is a fairly average resort, but the staff helped make our experience special—especially José, the bartender, and Emmanuel, our waiter. Both provided outstanding service. Unfortunately, the property needs some updating, and the food was average at best. The Expedia staff was also excellent and very helpful throughout our stay. Overall, this would not be one of my top choices. If you’re traveling on a budget, I can understand staying here. However, if you can spend a couple hundred dollars more, I would recommend choosing another resort

Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but honestly, my group had fun because of US and the energy we brought, not because the resort provided enough entertainment. The Bash Tower room was nothing special, and I could have just kept the Trendy room. For a resort with this type of reputation, there definitely needs to be more entertainment and activities to keep the energy going. Also, be aware there is a $400 security deposit PER ROOM, which I found ridiculous. I’ve stayed at resorts in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica and never had to pay a security deposit like that. You aren’t just a basic hotel—you’re a resort, so act accordingly. The food was great, and that was definitely one of the highlights. Overall, we made the best of our trip and had a great time together, but as far as the resort itself goes, I’m not sure I would come back.
