“What a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful property, lovely clean room in a gorgeous setting. The owners were welcoming and accommodating and the provisions were superb. The room was lovely and comfortable with a modern wet room en-suite. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the selection was excellent. We will definitely return.”

“Excellent location, nice room, comfy bed and decent shower. Pub and restaurant are good too, as was breakfast. Staff helpful. Limited parking, we got a space, just. If you want a parking space better to get there before 3pm.”

“The inn is in the most beautiful setting with wonderful views . The accommodation is very comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast and the restaurant is worth booking as the food is delicious and they pride themselves on sourcing ingredients from local farms and businesses. Would definitely return in the future.”

“5 star facilities & the hotel in the main is good with an excellent location for exploring Buxton. However, a lack of a dedicated car park is an issue, whilst you can valet park this currently costs £30/night & may prove prohibitive for some. The restaurant for breakfast is never 4 star let alone 5. The quality of food is decidely average, while the staff are rude & inattentive. Don't consider visiting anytime near closing or you risk not getting any cooked food or even a hot drink! No fresh...

“Best location to experience the Lake District and very close to both Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House. Idyllic town, beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable and clean. The food was also tasty and worth the visit!”

“Had a slow drain on the shower, due to the way the shower isn’t a tray this meant water flooded the rest of the bathroom. Reported to be reception and this wasn’t fixed. Had to use a towel wedged against the shower door and then turn the water down. Asked for more milk sachets (two for a family room with 4 isn’t enough) at reception and got directed to the bar, had a huge wait whilst they faffed around serving just one person - god help anyone if ordering a round then! A bit unclear at...

“Hotel is in need of a overall Room was very small bed was clean but tilted two ways only one bedside table and the room in general was not clean Bathroom toilet and bath were clean but again the flooring was dirty and in need of replacement Scaffolding was outside the window with no advance notice We have been visiting the hotel for over 20 years but this looks like being our last time unless the hotel gets a full refurbishment”
