“Perfect place for rest”

“The property was unfortunately not as advertised and the photos felt very misleading. While the bedding, kitchen and bathroom were clean, overall the place felt quite tired and in need of an upgrade. The walls, carpets and couches all needed a proper clean and there were no base covers on the bed. Which are usually a norm in most homes, so expected in a letting. There were also several maintenance issues including a broken stair rail and a shower that only worked as a handheld attachment....

“A fantastic property beautifully furnished. A great base to explore the area. We will definitely return here.”

“Very nice, comfortable house. Had everything we needed.”

“The pod is in the backyard of a garden which gives an impression of lack of intimacy, even though cabin is oriented towards a forest making it a "false" impression. However, the place itself was clean and really cozy and services were excellent, we loved it”

“We recently stayed at this property for just 2 nights as a base while exploring London, and we barely used the place, making it impossible for us to cause the kind of stains they later claimed. We received an email stating that a portion of our deposit would be kept due to “extra cleaning” for marks on the wall - which were already there when we arrived and are completely normal for a well-lived space and for a torn throw that was already in poor condition upon check-in. We made sure to leave...

“We booked this property in April 2026 thinking it was one house made up of one dwelling. We booked one night and after some deliberation we booked a second consecutive night separately believing it would be the same property. Upon arrival at the property we soon realized the house was divided into two separate residences, an east wing and a west wing. At no point did Black Sheep Hotels tell us that the property was made up of two residences and that we had in fact booked one night in each...

“We loved the layout and the location was fantastic - a really short drive to the beach. Unfortunately it smelled quite badly of cigarette smoke and the washing machine smelled musty so we had to use the laundromat on site instead. We would have liked to have had some USB plugs. ”

“The property is perfect, positioned practically on the beach and amongst all the facilities at Watergate bay.”

“Worst place I ever stayed, it was a empty unsafe shell. No bedding pillow TV network nothing to entertain, couldn't even sleep. Even club house was like a dead shell. I wouldn't even go back if they offer me money. I checked out next day. It was completely unsafe. Nail was sticking out next to the bed. No response from anyone they are are useless. Asked for refund but no response. First time leaving the bad comment don't bother ”

“Perfect, nothing to say, destroys its price point.”

“I have given this property a 1 star review because when we arrived at the property there were no towels. We were not notified beforehand and only discovered the lack of towels via a letter that was at the property upon arrival. It stated that we had to pre-book towels for an extra charge per person and they were subject to availability. It was stressful. This may sound trivial, but it really isn't - towels are pretty essential. The property is in the country, miles from any shops and we...

“Booked on behalf of my sister's, they really enjoyed their stay ”

“This property is truly a gem and so is the little town of Charleston. The Studio is immaculately maintained and comfortable - you can feel the owners’ love and effort put into maintaining it, which is so rare to come by these days. Floors, bathroom and surfaces were spotless. The bed was warm and so comfortable. Amenities are as listed. Owner/host, Antonia, is a wonderful and lovely lady (I miss her already!). We had a slight miscommunication at time of booking, but she was so patient and...

“I had a terrible experience with my hotel booking yesterday. I made the reservation in the morning and informed the owner, John, that we would arrive late, after 9:00 PM. She told me there would be a £60 late check-in charge, which I agreed to. At 9:00 PM, she messaged me, and I explained that due to traffic and an accident, we would be delayed by about an hour. She responded rudely, telling me to call when I arrived, and I agreed. Before reaching the property, I messaged her at 10:55 PM to...

“Isolde Cottage was perfect location for our holiday with our dog. Great spot for walks, quick drive to the beach and other highlights of Cornwall. ”
