“Very disappointing. Room was cold and tv not working. Left voicemail for contact twice but received no response. Had to put spare duvet on top of bed. The fact that this spare duvet was in the wardrobe perhaps indicates that the lack of heat is a continuing problem. Internet was intermittent and difficult to get. Towels very hard - suggest you take your own.”

“Lovely room, perfect for relaxing after a day out walking. Chosen because it was dog friendly and it did not disappoint - good for walking into town and loved that there was a map showing us how to get there by avoiding the main road. Breakfasts were delicious! Thank you for our stay.”

“We stayed in a four poster bedroom in late October 26. The hotel is a fascinating place (in a good way). Steeped in history but extremely well maintained. The bedroom was superb, luxurious and super clean with a very comfortable bed. We had both evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. Both were exceptional and decent value too. The staff were all professional, polite and friendly. Only minor gripe is the parking. The hotel parking itself is small and tight. Plus you will need to be there...

“Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay”

“Pet friendly stay for One night . Clean and comfortable. Didnt have dinner, breakfast very nice , lovely lady serving. Fresh milk delivered first thing in the morning a nice touch. Charge of £25 PER NIGHT for a pet I believe is excessive. £20 per stay seems the average these days . So I suppose £25 per stay would be acceptable for the quality of establishment. NOT £25 per night though !”
