“This lovely old pub in the heart of in the Sussex countryside is cosy and welcoming. It's a hotel/inn, pub, and Jamaican-focused restaurant all rolled into one. The welcome was as warm as the Caribbean from hosts Barrie (Jamaican) and Drexie (German), the husband and wife combo running this place. There's a nice garden in the back for summer nights and BBQs. “The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food and beer is good and great value. Parking is a bit tight, so arrive early if you are checking in! If you want to eat, make sure you reserve a table. We found out the hard way on Saturday lunchtime that you can't always get a meal, even if you are a resident. Other than that, it's a good place to stay. It's quiet at night due to the location and the fact that the bar isn't open until late.”

“Overall a good stay. But AC off upon arrival and it took 7 hours before the temperature was bearable to sleep (5 pm arrival). Nice atmosphere at the pub with great food and service.”
