“Really had a lovely stay”

“Room very spacious and comfortable, could do with a wardrobe. Bed comfortable, pillows a little too soft but could be just preference. Ensuite good but lacking shelf space for toiletries. Breakfast was average and booked in for evening meal which was disappointing”

“My wife and I stayed for three nights at Bartles Lodge in August 2026. We were warmly welcomed by proprieters upon arrival. The premises were clean and comfortable, we opted for a continental breakfast and the selection offered was excellent. We ate two evening meals which were hot and tasty and well presented. “This is a small and cosy place to stay, it feels as if you are staying at a friend’s house. You are very well looked after and nothing is to much trouble, the breakfast couldn’t be better and we had one evening and one Sunday Lunch there which was great. Tim, the owner, even fitted us in when they were already full. Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Parking is right outside so easy and convenient. We would stay again, perfect for us.”

“The room was clean, lovely to have a bath. Breakfast was delicious by a wood burning stove. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Loved being close to Wells next the sea. Garden view room 5 did not really have a view of the garden from the balcony because it was on the end. Overall, enjoyed the stay.”

“Lovely 3 night stay. Rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. We booked two rooms and were assigned one in the courtyard and one in the main building. Bathroom in the courtyard room was significant bigger but otherwise rooms were comparable. Great location. Definitely recommend booking with breakfast included.
