“I ve called the reception two times before arrival and both of the receptionist were so professional and kind. The gentleman (I think night team) that check us in was very polite friendly and efficient fast. The hotel looks old but lovely in the same times and room is very big and spacious. We only stay one night but of course the room could have more maintenancebut for us is not been a problem while we were only there for one night.”

“There is ample parking, staff are friendly and helpful. Sadly the hotel building is very dated and in need of urgent updating and maintenance. The carpets are stained and smelly. The beddings and furnishing are old, stained and surfaces are always sticky ! Hairs human, and animal are everywhere . The bathroom is disappointing, leaky flush, cracked basin and water pressure is very low, taking showers is frustrating. Such a shame that the owners don't close this hotel for 6 months and give it the...

“Bed was absolutely awful! Woke up with back spasms and sciatica. Breakfast was poor cheap as cheap produce and machine coffee. Pool, steam, sauna were ok and gym was well equipped. Bed ruined me for the next four days and I don’t usually have muscle and bone issues.”

“The Old Swan is a beautiful old world hotel from the bygone days when they knew how to do it. Staff were well presented and helpful. The bar extremely comfortable. The room clean and warm. It's close to the centre of Harrogate, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, though the food in the hotel is excellent. Plenty of parking. It's always an enjoyable stay, which is why I return again and again.”

“We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room itself was spacious but very worn. The chairs were falling apart and the carpet was very stained. The biggest issue was that the shower drain was blocked and would not drain. This made the shower unusable. The hotel would not move us to another room as they claimed to be fully booked. They also would not send maintenance to the room until the next day. This meant that we could not have a shower in our room.”

“Escogí a este hotel por el diseño y la cercanía a York. Se tarde 30 minutos en tren desde Harrogate (1 hora en coche !). El hotel es una joya, elegante, muy limpio, con baños muy modernos y unos desayunos espectaculares. Esta muy cuidado y se muestra el buen gusto de los dueños. En cuanto a Harrogate, es menos conocido pero merece la pena la visita, especialmente por los parques, tiendas, los baños turcos y Betty's Tearoom, donde se puede disfrutar del mejor afternoon tea!”
