“Really comfortable, quiet and clean bedroom, the bathroom was on the small side and not as nice as the rest of the room (still nice enough). The staff were friendly but seemed very busy so they just gave us the key and pointed us in the direction of the outbuiling where our bedroom was located. If you have heavy luggage or struggle with stairs our room would not be for you as there were some very steep stairs.”

“Despite retaining the old pub name, this is now a B&B only, so don't expect a bar or evening meals. The accommodation was good if a little quirky. Our bedroom had polished wood floors rather than carpet, but the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Breakfast (continental) is a help yourself arrangement and was fine. In our case, check in was done without the owner being onsite. He texted us the access codes. The bus stop for Carlisle was opposite the front door. We stayed one...

“The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The beds were really comfortable, breakfast was very comprehensive and nice. The place is a little run down, but looks as though it’s being improved. Great value for the price, would definitely stay there again. They do do evening meals in the bar although their website doesn’t say so.”

“I would strongly recommend ringing ahead before arriving for check in as there isn't the usual reception on site and no late check in. And even checking in at 7pm was a slightly nerve wracking procedure that took several nervous minutes of ringing doorbells, Ring Door Camera, texts and two phone calls until I finally managed to speak to the owner, who was off site and arranged for someone(I believe another tenant) to let check in. Eventually it was NOT a problem - but well worth ringing...
