“It was a lovely stay at a local residence just by the river and main bridge. The decor was very tasteful. We loved walking along both sides of the river and exploring. No English was spoken but my daughter speaks Chinese so this wasn’t an issue. Local breakfast of noodles and egg. It was charming.”

“Everything was amazing. From the very first interaction to the very last farewell. The host always responds to my questions promptly. Provided assistance with transportation to and from train station. Had welcome drink and snacks for us. Room was spotless and very comfortable, location was awesome as well. Situation very close to the river. Short walk to everything. Would definitely recommend to others.”

“Large modern room with comfortable bed and separate bathtub & shower. Quiet location. Staff do not speak English, which is typical even for Western branded hotels in China. My room smelled a bit like sulfur, strongest near the toilet, but common areas did not. Air conditioner did not work. When reported to front desk, the complaint was met with a shrug. A bit of a walk from the historic area, but a gated walkway serves as a shortcut. ”

“First off, the address is wrong. It directs you to JOMO hotel in another town that is not Fenghuang. We got in late at night and had to spend an hour sorting this out with our Taxi driver’s help. The hotel is right next to a nightclub so the music is blasting in your room. Don’t expect to get any sleep because it’s so loud that it almost feels like you are sleeping in a nightclub. This is not a 3.5 star hotel. I’m not sure how it got this rating. This definitely feels like a 1 star motel....

“The service and follow-up, as well as the WhatsApp response, were wonderful, and they were very friendly at all times. The hotel has an excellent location. However, I did find the cleanliness to be an issue. There was lint in the room, the shower was clogged, the door and bathroom had no privacy between them. They didn't provide hand soap, and we left the cups dirty and didn't change them. In short, there was areas to improve during our stay, but I'd say the service was 10/10!”
