“If you value the suspension in your car then avoid the long potholed drive up to this property! On arrival it transpired the lift was not working and no-one appeared the whole weekend to investigate or repair. No idea how long it had been broken. No apology was given when we arrived. We were simply directed to the staircase to get to our room on the 2nd floor!. No idea when the skirting boards in the room was last cleaned. The shower in the room was scalding hot one minute and freezing cold...

“Set in beautiful surroundings, full of birds, deer and red squirrels. Room was pleasant, clean and spacious. Lovely friendly gentleman looked after us and gave us great information about the local area. Very peaceful place to stay, great value for money and would definitely stay again”

“I stayed in the dog friendly room which was ok but not great. The carpets were stained and when we first walked in the room we could smell dog it wasn't a fresh smell. There was a half used toilet roll in our bathroom and no fan so it steamed up quite quickly. The room was at the bottom of the beer garden so was very noisy which wasn't that much of a problem. “Fantastic location room and staff”

“Check in was easy and efficient. The room was all that could be expected, plus a few extras. A jar of a variety shortbread biscuits was a surprise along with an extremely varied options for hot drinks, i.e. Horlicks. A bowl of fruit was also an unexpected delight. The bathroom was well appointed, with shampoo, soap etc in pump pots. The bed itself was supremely comfortable with more than sufficient coverings. A large fan completed the array of convenience items, really handy with recent weather...

“La struttura e’ semplice ma molto caratteristica, accogliente tipica del paese meraviglioso dove si trova. Personale disponibile e gentile sotto ogni aspetto. Unico aspetto negativo se proprio vogliamo e’ che la nostra stanza per 4 persone era un po’ piccola. Comunque sicuramente da consigliare!”

“Beautiful setting, nice hotel and amenities etc. Was disappointed with the soundproofing of the room as I could hear the people in room 9 snoring all Friday night ( I had little if any sleep) and I am registered partially deaf in both ears. I did comment to the receptionist in the morning and was told the rooms in the main house were better soundproofing as regards to maybe staying again in the future.”
