“The room was dark … out dated … and in need of a brighter coat of paint …. But the bed was very comfortable and the bed linen clean The staircases were very narrow and very warm as there was no fresh air …. Just basic amenities in the room … Staff were very courteous but could have been a bit more pro active in clearing the tables in the bar and the bar floor …. “The hotel was further from Lyndhurst than I expected and although that wasn't an issue, it was further than I anticipated. This for us was the only downside to the stay. The room was cosy and comfortable and somewhat quirky. We loved its uniqueness. The hotel restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed our dinner there on our overnight stay. We would definitely stay again as it was convenient for a stop over before embarking on a cruise the following day from Southampton.”
