Vacations Close To Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge

Rooms are not the best as they are not upgraded but not a bad stay overall for the rate.

The room was okay, but the barn door they had for the bathroom appeared to be on either backwards, or just didn't fit - there was a HUGE gap so no privacy. I didn't bring any shampoo/conditioner/bodywash because their website said they had those. Well, it was a body wash/shampoo combo (which was horrible for my hair) and the conditioner was either empty or just didn't work. I understand they can't control how loud the guests are, but there were several people yelling and running down the hall around 1am. We had to be to the hospital at 5:30am so didn't appreciate that too much.

If you like the charm of old Florida (sticky tile floors, the smell of dampness, tacky decor from the 1970/80s, lots of coral and teal colors) then you will like this place. If you are someone who wants to fish, you will like the amenities. If you are looking for a clean and simple place to stay, this is not the place for you. The ice machine on our floor was missing and there was leaking water and pipes showing everywhere, along with a dehumidifier. The balcony was tiny and not very usable. As Floridians, we don't mind kitchy but this was kinda gross. We booked this place because it was highly recommended on this site and we were disappointed at the quality for the price. Plus you have to pay for parking which feels like an insult. Parking wasn't secure and I didn't see any security. I wanted to support a local place but next time I will stick with a chain option instead.

+ $200 im fees and taxes , pricing is deceiving and too many tax and fees on top of fees . You rent a room and pay to use the amenities on top .Then get taxed o room and then on amenities ... Just add all charges to room so people can see straight . And do not leave courtesy water if it is gonna be $7 each, instead of class shows how predatory the charges are , also included in room price if you want to sell it and that is it .Tell people who is doing this that they will kill such a nice resort for being so predatory and deceiving .
