Vacations Close To Jarret Park

Friendly helpful staff at check-in. Food was good and consistent. Lots of walking, but that's normal at a large resort. Enjoyed the adult pool. Towel hut is nearby and always has warm towels. Entertainment team is amazing. They are out every day talking to guests and planning events and then in the evening they are putting on a SHOW! Changed our room from a Jr Ocean Suit to an ocean front and the view was absolutely gorgeous. All in all a good trip and a good stay.

The hotel was nice. The double rooms are quite large. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning the room daily. The 6 pools were amazing. Well kept. The lifeguards seemed to only work occasionally. And not every pool was manned. But the pools are only 4 feet deep, so maybe they didn't feel the necessity to have a lifeguard at each pool. There's lots of eating areas in Rose Hall (the main buffet). There is an unpleasant odor as you walk inside the buffet hall, which would be nice if they gave the entire indoors a good cleaning and freshening up. All the servers were extremely pleasant and always ready to offer help. The food was good. They did serve many authentic Jamaican dishes; which was nice. And it appeared that everyone was enjoying the food. The negative part for me was that I had to wait hours for my room to be ready when I first arrived, after travelling almost 18+ hours. Check in was supposed to be at 3:00 pm. But only after I got angry did I finally get my room after 4:30 pm.

On my second day there was a roach in my room on his back kicking, I call the front desk and it took them 45 minutes for someone to come and they came to change the sheets. The next night I woke up to go the rest room and there was a roach running on the opposite pillow. That place is unclean. After the second time they changed my room and the new housekeeper was a goood one. There workers are lazy and not to mention the buffet I a Messias, please go to a different location and not the one in ocho Rios.

The hotel rooms were filled with mosquitoes. The food was tasteless and terrible. The dining room staff were slow and impolite. The hallways were always wet or dirty. The hotel turn off all the outside lights at nighttime. Very scary property. I did not feel safe walking outside at night.
