“Just returned from a two night stay at The North West Castle Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were a family group of 2 sisters and 2 brothers and all of us found the hotel great. Every member of staff were so helpful and friendly from the reception, the waiting staff at breakfast, the bar staff and the domestic staff they couldn't have treated us any better. A special shout out to Alan in the bar you are a star !! Breakfast was great. The rooms are spacious and have everything...

“Todo bien”

“Friendly and helpful staff and excellent food in restaurant. Nice Lochside location. Great location for visiting the nearby Dumfries House a short drive away.”

“The Portpatrick Hotel never fails to disappoint. The location is wonderful but the hotel itself is poor, poorly maintained and no attention to detail by housekeeping when preparing rooms, with empty soap dispensers in the bathroom. The hotel just seems neglected, badly managed and understaffed by people who have little or no training in hospitality. At best the breakfast was disappointing, the hot food in the buffet was edible, but the presentation and other items sadly lacking.”

“This is a tale of two halves… We had booked for a deluxe family suite, that had been modernised and had two separate rooms. Unfortunately we arrived to find that our room was unavailable, due to a leak (awful Scottish weather) and they offered us either a deluxe family room (two doubles) or two adjoining rooms in the dated part of the hotel (the forest wing), which we opted for. Although it hadn’t seen a lick of paint or new furniture in decades, it was exceptionally clean and had everything we...

“We had a great stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and both the rooms and communal seating areas were clean and well maintained.”

“Hotel was superficially clean but worn and the stairwell smelt of drains. Taps were difficult to turn on and off. Linen clean and bed comfortable.”

“Servicio regular al hacer la habitación llegaron tarde para hacerla y mal hecho. La ventana no cerraba está en mal estado. No tenía la habitación aire acondicionado ”

“Excelente trato del personal”

“This hotel was a great stop on our Scottish adventure! Rooms were clean and exactly as advertised. The restaurant on site was delicious. They had slow service in the evening, but the breakfast was perfect!”

“The hotel and setting were fantastic. The dinner menu and food were excellent. While a full breakfast was offered we opted for the continental breakfast which was very ordinary. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the room's furnishing were sparse. There were no outlets on either side of the bed which can be a minor inconvenience if use your phone as your bedside clock and still need to charge it. All said, the character of the hotel and the friendly staff made this a perfect...

“Everything in our room was beautifully done. The lighting was awesome. Beds were soft. The only downfall is they didn’t have “lifts” or elevators and we were up on the 3rd floor.”

“We stayed for a night and everything was amazing. Friendly staff and a very spacious and clean room.”

“Me gustó el trato de la chica de recepción y no me gustó lo anticuado de sus instalaciones ”

“We booked a family room”

“Great location, serene environment and friendly/professional staff. Really enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant, served by great staff and delicious food. So far my best stay in Scotland.”
