Vacations Close To Yum Balam Nature Reserve

Friendly staff, nice place

We stayed at the Wyndham Grand Cancun in October and really enjoyed our stay! The resort was clean and well maintained, and the beds were very comfortable. The food was okay overall, but Pina and Vista were both really good and definitely stood out. The service throughout the resort was excellent. A special shout-out to Jorge at the Paloma Buffet during the evening service. He was absolutely amazing! So welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm-hearted toward our family. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and his kindness really made our experience that much more special. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We had a wonderful vacation and would love to return!

My wife and I spent a week at GR Solaris Cancun and overall had a good vacation, but that was more because of the time we spent together than because of the resort itself. The highlight of our stay was our oceanfront room with a private plunge pool. We spent most of the week sitting by the pool, enjoying the ocean view, watching beautiful sunsets, relaxing, and catching up on much-needed rest. For someone who normally gets up around 3:00 a.m. for work, this trip gave me the chance to slow down, take naps, and recharge. We also enjoyed exploring the area. Our excursions to Tulum, an ATV adventure, and swimming in a cenote were some of the best parts of the trip. We paid for a deep-tissue massage that was excellent and worth every dollar. As for the resort itself, our experience was mixed. We felt there was a noticeable difference in how members and non-members were treated. Several restaurants, bars, and amenities were either closed or had limited availability during our stay. We understand it was a slower time of year, but it often felt like many of the advertised options weren't fully available. We were invited multiple times to attend a membership presentation. After considering it, we declined. The perks being offered simply weren't enough to justify the commitment for us. We enjoy traveling to different destinations and don't see ourselves returning to the same resort often enough for a membership to make sense. Would we return? Probably not. Air conditioner poor

Our swim up pool room was nice and roomy! The kids had so much space to run around and I love how it has a small room in between our bathroom and bedroom for our clothes. The staff was so helpful and very friendly. Our concierge, Fran and Andres took care of all our needs from reservations to a surprise wine and birthday cake in our room. There are 3 restaurants on site plus the buffet. Surprising there was not much tacos or nachos&cheese, but there was nacho chips that was so good. There's a water park for the kids that they loved. It was an overall great experience.
