“Sam, the general manager greeted us warmly on arrival, was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our courtyard room was clean and comfortable with a garden table just outside the door. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Dinner and breakfast were both plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended for a stay in the Mendips with dogs.”

“Nice clean room, lovely furnishings and even a chocolate on the bed. Really nice place and good breakfast other than the coffee server with breakfast coming form pre-made large flask and tasted like instant. Server did get us a ground coffee form the bean machine so all good. Good location and small wall to the marina bars and shops in portishead.”

“The room was pretty decent, and large, and the beds were comfortable, but otherwise the whole place was somewhat run down and not by well maintained, with a musty smell throughout, including in the room and bathroom. The place is just OK, at best. They were no staff there, and it was difficult to communicate with them via email, or text, or Expedia, and you may or may not get a reply. Check-in instructions were not adequate and if you show up early, the place, and the adjoining pub, is closed...
