“I have stayed at this hotel over 5 times under 2 different owners. The spa is always impressive however Champneys now charge extra for residents’ access per day. This results in a stampede at 3pm for guests wanting to (rightly) get their money’s worth. It really detracts from the ability to relax. The spa bar area could do with a little TLC: walls marked; carpets covered in crumbs; cobwebs on the ceiling alcoves; plastic champagne flutes!!! The bed was comfortable and the bedroom spacious....

“A lovely hotel and spa. Nice swimming pool, sauna and gym. Good breakfast. Nice friendly staff. Excellent location. My only disappointment was the room was a bit tired and only 2 sockets which were on the opposite wall to the bed. Also the kettle had to sit on the floor because the cable wasn’t long enough to have on the table. Also would have been nice to have some decaf teabags. Small problems really but just observations.”

“Lovely stay at Kingscroft hotel, very peaceful location, check in was quick greeted by Wol on arrival ( such a lovely host) & taken to our room which was clean, big & exceptionally clean. Lots of extras including plenty of towels, toiletries, hairdryer, tea/coffee & biscuits. Bed was very comfy & bathroom was modern with great shower. 10 minutes to walk to centre of Buxton Breakfast , we aren’t vegetarian but my goodness we didn’t miss the usual bacon/ sausages! “Loud. Incredibly loud. First, they gave no indication that the room I was staying in opened directly onto the street. The door lock was strange, perhaps just something I'm not used to, but I struggled with ensuring that it was locked during the night. (I work in a technical field, I'm not dim, but jeez, I felt stupid) Considering people milling around outside the pub at night were quite drunk, shouty, and possessed of questionable decision making, I ended up putting a chair in front of the door...
