“Very friendly staff all round .The hotel needs a bit updating stairs to room ,we stayed in Apple blossom room which was spacious with a large bathroom .Mini fridge in room with fresh milk nice touch .The room was comfortable in the heatwave ,with a fan included . Felt the detail of cleaning could of been better ( big cobweb under window and handbasin cracked and behind the taps could of done with a clean ) The setting and surroundings really make this hotel a good find .Breakfast served by...

“The staff were very helpful. We dined in the restaurant and had a lovely meal.”

“It’s a real pub, so smokers and drinkers in the courtyard as we were shown to our room. Spotless and allowed to enter it early as it was ready for us. Staff were very welcoming and the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent.”

“I never received any messages to say that I had to contact the hotel if I was arriving after 10pm from Expedia. Only when I arrived and reception was closed did I look at their website which stated that fact. Therefore I could not stay because I couldn’t check in and had no choice but to drive away. I understand it was not refundable, but I did expect to stay the night at least. In summary I got charged for the pleasure and couldn’t even stay. I paid for breakfast too. Poor communications. “Norma was absolutely wonderful, helpful and efficient. The accommodation was clean and tidy, shower was great. Breakfast was well varied and tasty. Evening meal was excellent. Bar and staff were good. Will be visiting again 😊”

“I booked through Expedia and paid at the time of reservation (night before the stay). I was then charged again when I checked in. I’ve tried reaching out to The Star but with no response so it looks like I’m not getting my money back. Very frustrating!”
