“We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was our first time in Wales and the location was excellent. The room was modern, if a little small and without AC during the heatwave, which meant that even with the windows open, the room was very warm. The food was good both at breakfast and on the one evening we had a meal. The hotel have a strange rewards system where you can forego your room cleaning for a free drink, but the system is cumbersome and seems more hassle than it is worth.”

“On arrival we were allocated a basement room which we immediately rejected , staff were helpful and gave us room 217 , l can only describe the room as grim . The shower was over the bath , the windows were dirty , the toilet was also unclean and the place looked like it hadn’t been decorated in years . “The manner and attitude of the proprietors was brilliant. Felt at home, warm and welcoming, easy to converse with. Our stay was during the heatwave and staying in room 7 at the top of the house ? converted attic - was rather warm, and only a small window. However there was an excellent fan/cooler which we used to the full. Despite the warnings - I managed to bump my head on the beams several times!
