“Let's start with the positive. Fantastic location close to pubs & restaurants Bed comfortable. Very disappointed, the hotel was very run down & tired. Staff were not welcoming and lacked enthusiasm. Buffet breakfast very average. Parking was difficult, You can purchase a 24 hr parking pass. But a parking space is not guaranteed if you decide to go visit the surrounding areas. Dog friendly at a cost of £20 a night, front door locked at 11pm. Sadly, we checked out early. Not recommended.”

“We've stayed at the Bike and Boot on many occasions and this stay did not disappoint. The hotel and location is perfect for a stay in the national park and the staff go ut of their way to make your stay enjoyable.”

“Beautiful classic Georgian country Pub. Big comfortable room with a huge bathroom. The bed was also big and comfortable. We didn’t eat at the pub so cannot comment on that, but the village has several nice places to eat.”

“Excellent hotel and highly recommend to all. Location is perfect. Right in the centre of Buxton. Very beautiful and surrounded by lovely cafes, bars, restaurants. There isn’t a car park on site so I parked in the train station which cost about £5 for 24 hours and was 2 mins walk away. Room was very nicely appointed. Lovely and quiet. Felt private. Bathroom luxurious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff all very friendly and polite. Local and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served...

“Comfortable room, friendly staff. Had pleasant meal one night, and enjoyed cooked breakfast. Spent few hours in pub lounge, great atmosphere. Small point, we were in room 9 which was noisy at night due to extractor fan out side. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.”

“Our stay was very average for such a grand hotel. The room felt like we were stopping in the servants quarters rather than a nice hotel. It was small and basic but clean and we got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good. Parking here can be difficult if you turn up in the evening and there is a charge. Great location for all that Buxton has to offer and very convenient for the many restaurants and bars.”

“Lovely room, perfect for relaxing after a day out walking. Chosen because it was dog friendly and it did not disappoint - good for walking into town and loved that there was a map showing us how to get there by avoiding the main road. Breakfasts were delicious! Thank you for our stay.”
