“This place is overrated, dated, unclean. Friendly staff but it is quite far from the town centre and it feels more like it is about how you as a customer can help the staff - it is about their needs, not yours as a customer.”

“Our room with a view was clean and functional. It was showing some signs of 'old age' with a bit of plaster coming off the ceiling and dated furniture but the hotel is undergoing a lot of refurbishment and modern furniture would probably not be in keeping in an older building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as was the bar facilities. The restaurant was pleasant and the menu typical Greene King. “What a lovely stay run by a lovely couple. A quirky friendly B&B within easy walking distance of town ( a little up hill on the way back) Beautiful garden full of interest. A perfectly cooked breakfast in the morning made using good quality produce. Along with cereals, yogurts and juice. Homely and clean. You really felt like a guest rather than just another number moving through. They have two small friendly dogs but kept them out of the way for a guest who felt nervous around dogs....
