“The historical building was quaint. Inside was clean but there were exterior conditions that need attention. The breakfast bar was ok, but I’m not a breakfast eater, so we didn’t partake. My husband and I (both senior citizens) were on the 3rd floor. The elevator was out of order. The clerk did offer to carry our luggage up. The restaurant was closed.”

“Never been to Tipton IA before. The next time we go through, we will be staying at this location. It was quiet. Well kept. Staff was very friendly. Clean. Amenities were just what was needed. Don't need over the top for a comfortable stay. We only stayed for one night, but we will be stopping again. It was homey and comforting. Something somewhat lacking these days.”

“This is the only hotel in mount vernon so you don't have another option if you want to be near cornell college campus. A couple of things to point out are....they do not have any gf breakfast options other then scrambeled eggs and those are not always good,so plan ahead. The rooms are not always really clean,as mine didnt look like it had been vacuumed during my very recent stay. The on-site washer and dryer are old and do not run efficiently. The staff are always pleasant however.”
