This is a old school classic hotel. Beautiful decor and very clean rooms. Only rated a 4 due to the free breakfast was very limited. There were 2 cereal options, fruit and yogurt. Was expecting a larger variety. Overall a great hotel

Worth a trip to Maquoketa, IA just to stay at the Decker Hotel. Charming, historic property at reasonable rates. Serve yourself breakfast was minimal but understandable given the cost. The faithful restoration lets you go back in time while still having modern comforts like central air and updated bathroom. We would go back.

Room was clean and pleasant. Desk person unusual, hovered when I was in lobby area waiting to be picked up by friend. English was passable. I checked out early by 2 days and have yet to receive a credit for those days as was charged full 7 days when arrived. Desk person seemed confused when I checked out early as if unsure what to do. Overall , not bad considering choices in area are very slim.

Very cool historic building with antique furnishings and super comfortable bed. Paid a little extra to stay in the presidential suite which was very cool. Suite had a whirlpool, and an awesome sitting room overlooking downtown. My only gripe is the whirlpool wasn't able to get very hot at all. I assume the water heater can't keep up for the tub's demand. One guy on staff was friendly and helpful. I was disappointed that the lounge/bar/restaurant is no longer in service. Great Mexican restaurant down the block though.

Parking easy & close. Some neat shops nearby. Staff friendly but some difficulty understanding their accent. Place clean & neat. Bed comfortable. Only thing lacking was hair dryer(or put on site to bring one). Loved the unique Victorian look!

This was a very cute and amazingly fkash from the past experience. Beautiful hotel. We stayed in the presidential suite and loved it. Very clean amd romantic. Only issue was a sign outside making noise so loud we coule hear it all night but naustalgia i guess. Hubby experienced a bit of paranormal noises. Lady crying and a few other things but i slept like a baby. Would stay again.
