A sight of civilization amidst the vast Blue Ridge Mountains. Of the themes that I've attributed to the Appalachian region is civilization within nature. In Appalachia these things go hand in hand. A place that is hard to live in terms of weather and landscape, still never fails to attract people to live here. I took this picture on an un-official hiking trail that leads to an overlook of the Linn Cove Viaduct. The hike was extremely strenuous as there was no official trail to follow and it was mostly vertical all the way up. My roommate and I also heard some strange animal noises going up and I was stung by a yellow jacket, but it was all worth it for this picture. #appalachianechoes

Cute little town. Thrift stores and great food to keep you busy. Most people pass through here on their way elsewhere. Everyone is so friendly and it’s just a precious area for a little time away from big city life.

Super cute location - The owner of the cabin had a great list of local places to go and eat. We chose to go to The Italian Rest. and it was really good. The Veggie Calzone was a hit - We ate it while surrounded by a cloud that rolled in. Breathtaking
