Vacations Close To Grandfather Golf and Country Club

The floor in my room was coming up and where it was coming up you could feel soft spots underneath. Also, the shower had no plastic shower curtain and the shower nozzle used means that water would soak through the cloth shower curtain and the floor and bath mat would be soaked. Dangerous to be stepping out onto a wet tile floor. And the toilet was wobbly.

It was in a great part of town. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I love that dogs are welcome. They even had a dog on display for adoption. It was a great stay.

One of our favorite places to stay in the area. Always clean and well maintained, conveniently located without being in the thick of everything, great well stocked breakfast, friendly staff, and a nice clean indoor pool.

0 star . Booked, called repeatedly, never answered, then refused a refund My flight was delayed and I knew I'd arrive after 4 AM. Starting around 11 PM the night before, I called the hotel directly at least a dozen times to give them a heads-up no answer, not once. I then called Expedia, who also tried reaching the property and got the same silence. Expedia's own system showed the front desk closes at 3 AM, meaning no one would even be there to check me in. Given that, taking an Uber to a locked front desk at 4 AM made no sense, so I didn't go. When I later asked for a refund, the hotel refused despite having ignored every attempt I made to communicate with them beforehand. A hotel can't be unreachable all night, staff an unmanned desk after 3 AM, and then keep a guest's money for not showing up to a building nobody was in. If you're booking here, know that "24-hour front desk" isn't reliable, and don't expect any flexibility if your travel plans go sideways.

The Inn is clean, cozy and feels like traveling back into the past. We enjoyed the beautiful architecture and hand carved wood paneling. We enjoyed the wraparound veranda, both for breakfast and in the evenings. We lounged by the indoor fireplace as well. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was private and clean as well. The Inn is conveniently located close to the Biltmore as well as the downtown Asheville area. Would highly recommend this to adult travelers.
