“If you're a all creatures great and small fan, it's perfect, as you walk in you actually walk into the "drovers". If you're not a fan it will take you back it's an unchanged farmers country pub, but don't let that deter you, the rooms are stunningly clean, the staff friendly and very attentive.”

“An enjoyable stay. Comfortable room, friendly helpful staff, good food.”

“We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!”

“Friendly hosts. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of choice. Comfortable rooms. Ideal location within walking distance to local pubs/eateries.”

“We recently stayed at this newly renovated boutique hotel and absolutely loved it! The interior design is gorgeous, and the entire place was impeccably clean—we had zero complaints about our room or the service. The only downside was the breakfast, which felt a bit too pricey for what it was. We ended up skipping it and grabbing a great breakfast en route instead. It would be wonderful if they offered a more reasonably priced breakfast option in the future. Overall, a fantastic experience,...

“Could not fault it! We stayed in the orient room and were very impressed, the hot tub is nice and private also.”

“Another wonderful stay at Stow House - a beautiful boutique hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. We stay in the Cowboy room - wonderful room with roll top bath and heaps of space, with fantastic views over the Dales! We keep returning due to the great hospitality… this will be our 4th stay and we will be back! Breakfast delicious. Decor is cool & stylish. Artwork on the walls. Lots of books. Honesty bar & cocktail hour with homemade cocktails from the Savoy cocktail book, kindly served in the bar...

“Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile.”
