We recently stayed at this newly renovated boutique hotel and absolutely loved it! The interior design is gorgeous, and the entire place was impeccably clean—we had zero complaints about our room or the service. The only downside was the breakfast, which felt a bit too pricey for what it was. We ended up skipping it and grabbing a great breakfast en route instead. It would be wonderful if they offered a more reasonably priced breakfast option in the future. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would gladly stay here again!

The lounge area is spacious but also homely. The modern, open plan dining area is light and airy and looks out on to the garden. The accommodation was well appointed but the highlight was the attitude of the staff members; in particular, Sarah was delightful and could not have been more helpful. I would not hesitate to return if circumstances brought us back to this beautiful area.

Beautiful garden room with patio doors into the garden - comfiest bed by Sealy (locally manufactured in Cumbria) - friendliest staff (Zory was wonderful and chatty - so lovely when travelling alone on business). I will stay again (and again I hope) 🙏

This beautifully re-furbished hotel is situated in the delightful village of Dufton, near Appleby, Westmorland. The décor is superb and the rooms are furnished to a high standard. The twin beds are comfortable and the room includes tea/coffee making facilities, TV, bottled water and a hair dryer. The walk-in shower is clean with plenty of hot water and free toiletries. The lounge is spacious and clean and serves breakfast (no evening meals available). There is also a boot room and private parking. There's no reception - all done by remote communication, although clear instructions and the codes are communicated by emails. Didn’t see a sign indicating the hotel name or the main door entrance. It’s essential to book the Stag Inn for evening meals (especially Saturday), as it was fully booked, but we enjoyed having a drink outside (with a bag of crisps)! The roads are quite narrow to drive to this picturesque village.
