“We stayed for 2 nights in the family room which had a lovely comfortable king size bed, ensuite with large walk in shower and air con which was a God send. Very clean and quiet. The staff are lovely, food and drinks reasonably priced, breakfast choices good. The beer garden needs some attention but is secure if you have children or a dog. “The property as a whole was in poor condition and was not clean. The food was not very nice. It appeared to be from a food service company, just thawed, cooked and served. It is clear that the premises had not been subjected to a health and safety impact assessment. For example, the showers were in the bath and no non-slip mats were provided. “We had a room on the front, no air, room not aired, constant road noise all through the night. Mattress stained, carpet stained. Tables sticky in the restaurant - avoided breakfast.”

“Great spot to break up the journey when travelling through the countryside. Very friendly staff, good breakfast to start the day and our room was huge. We only stayed the night and it lived up to its name as we rested and were thankful!”

“The pub was in an ideal location and although on a busy road, we were not bothered by any traffic noise. The staff seemed rushed off their feet and we waited a while for our food with no offer of being able to order another drink whilst we were waiting. However, this has not put us off returning as the food and accommodation was excellent and the staff were very friendly.”
