“Despite retaining the old pub name, this is now a B&B only, so don't expect a bar or evening meals. The accommodation was good if a little quirky. Our bedroom had polished wood floors rather than carpet, but the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Breakfast (continental) is a help yourself arrangement and was fine. “This hotel needs a full refurbishment. It is run down. The bathroom in our room smelled like stale cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a non smoking room. They didn’t clean our room, make the bed, change the towels during our stay. The front desk clerk I asked about it was very dismissive and disrespectful and told me it was our fault. The carpets need cleaning/ replacing. There is a musty smell throughout the hotel.”
