The location is amazing for walking to both Grasmere and Ambleside. We went to the local pub to watch the badgers. The grounds of Rydal Hall are beautiful and include the grot and a waterfall, Would stay again.”

“My husband, dog and I stayed for one night on a bed-and-breakfast booking. We chose Glaramara because it advertises itself as dog friendly, our experience was anything but. On check-in, we were informed that the only area where dogs are permitted at breakfast had just two tables, both of which were already booked. Although the hotel had emailed beforehand to say space was limited, we did not expect that this would mean being unable to access the breakfast included in our stay. We tried...

“A well equipped hotel. Very clean with comfortable beds. The restaurant was lovely with a good choice on the menu and all at very reasonable prices. The setting is beautiful with the hills around and the well kept gardens. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also , all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a perfect stay. Thank you.”
