Hermit Island Vacation Packages for 2026

The hotel is very run down. The lobby looks nice but it’s a different story once you get to the elevator. The hallways had a funky smell and the rooms weren’t much better. The bathroom had rusty mirrors. The water pressure was decent though. When housekeeping came they didn’t replace all of the towels they took away. The restaurant and bar were not in service so it was impossible to get anything to eat in the hotel. The staff were friendly though.

We had two amazing stays at Docent 178 and Docent 121. Beautiful apartments situated in the heart of Old Port, Portland. You are in walking distance to some of the best food found in Maine. The staff were also incredibly helpful and one text message away. Maine in the summer is expensive, but if you are going to spend on hotels anyway, might as well do it with Docent!

Location was great and staff very friendly. Property is in need of refurbishment- looks worn and tired. showers small, overpriced for accomodation. Disappointing

Room was sufficient, clean, spacious for two people, and had opening windows that allowed for a nice breeze. Inn at St John is cutesy and convenient, with onsite parking, and lots of conveniences within walking distance. The real sell of this property is location - it's walkable to SO MANY awesome spots. Will definitely stay again.
