“The hotel was in a fantastic setting and our room was great. We didn’t have an evening meal there so I can’t comment on that but the breakfast was disappointing. The staff were rude, a large number of tables were left with dirty plates etc even though it wasn’t that busy. We had to ask for basic things like glasses and milk to go with the tea etc because there weren’t restocking them for guests to use. “A beautiful pub with stacks of character!! Cosy and inviting. Food was excellent, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Locals also welcoming. The area is so picturesque it was a real treat. Would definitely return and planning to try out Sunday lunch sometime in winter to take advantage of the open fireplace. Miniscule gripe was it would be nice to have some nicer bread at breakfast rather than bog standard e.g. sourdough. But that is not a show stopper!! Definitely recommend, but be aware...
