“The only thing that was disappointing was that they did not have bar food like steak, bugars etc but i guess a very exclusive place would only provide upmarket food. Was informed in the morning that there is a pub five minutes walk where we could of injoyed this kind of food. Apart from that it was an excellent place to stay. “A friendly welcome to the property. Although nowhere in the village to eat in the evening, we were recommended a restaurant 5 minute drive away in Corwen. Straightforward continental breakfast in the morning available. As the pub shut at 10pm, there was no late night noise so enjoyed a good night's sleep. A great base for exploring the area.”

“My second visit to Y Pengwern. For me it's ideal for my hikes. Very quite, a lovely local pub with friendly people and good food. Made to feel welcome. No fuss or bells or whistles. Just what I like.”

“Highly recommended. Well-equipped room. Spotlessly clean. Only (very) minor drawback was the narrow staircase to the second floor. Staff members were super helpful - I only regret not sampling the Welsh traditional breakfast!! Hotel is in a great location with a short walk to in-town facilities (shops, restaurants & bars). And plenty of parking on the quiet access road in front of the hotel.”

“Fantastic property in a great location just a few minutes walk from the town. Sean was incredibly accommodating from the minute I arrived, providing me with books and information of snowdon routes ahead of my climb! Absolute 10/10 breakfast cooked by sean, again he was very accommodating providing me the option to have it earlier than the usual time so I could get up the mountain quicker. If I ever return I’ll be sure to stay here again, fantastic stay.”

“Nice setting and very clean. Unfortunately, the property wasn't equipped for the hot weather. Luckily, we brought our own fan, as the place became very warm. For the price we paid, I would have expected at least a couple of fans to be provided. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but this is something that could definitely be improved.”
