“Nice friendly welcome from the gentleman working the bar on arrival Thursday 23rd October around 2pm, booked in and explained about breakfast, evening meals, on-site parking and what was happening at the pub over coming days. Shown to our room which was nice and bright, very clean and comfortable. The building dates from the 1700s so expect uneven floors and squeaky floor boards and lots of character in a nice way and things that catch your eye. Beautifully dressed for Halloween. “La habitación es muy pequeña, no estaba todo lo limpia que debería. Había moscas muertas encima de la cama, pelos en las sabanas. Las camas horribles, imposible dormir, además de la cantidad de luz que entra y el ruido de los coches de la carretera. El baño está también falto de limpieza. Imposible poner el agua a una temperatura adecuada, quemaba o salía fría, y la cantidad de agua ridícula. La casa está a las afueras, no hay prácticamente nada alrededor, más de media hora andando a la zona...

“Lovely, helpful people! The beds were so comfortable with amazing soft sheets. Breakfast was very hearty that one didnt ned lunch. It is above a pub but you couldnt hear the noise below. Karaoke night was so much fun. Very close to everything without being in the center. 10min walk to the train station. 2 min to york minister, the wall and hop on hop off buses. Highly recommend!”
